Üniversite Öğrencilerinde Anoreksiya Nevroza Belirtileri ve İlişkili Faktörlerin Araştırılması

GİRİŞ ve AMAÇ: Üniversite öğrencilerinde anoreksiyo nevroza (AN) gelişiminde sosyal ve bedensel algı düzeyinin ve bazı değişkenlerin (cinsiyet, maddi durum, iştah durumu, doktorun özel diyet önermesi, BKI, egzersiz) etkisinin incelenmesidir.
YÖNTEM ve GEREÇLER: Tanımlayıcı nitelikte olan bu çalışmanın evrenini bir üniversitenin merkez kampüsünde öğrenim gören (n=14.109) öğrenciler, örneklemini ise bu grup içinden basit rastgele örnekleme yöntemi ile seçilen n=1002 öğrenci oluşturdu. Veriler birebir yüz yüze görüşme yöntemi ile “Kişisel Bilgi Formu”, “Yeme Tutum Testi (YTT)” ve “Sosyal ve Bedensel Algı Formu (SBAF)” aracılığı ile elde edildi.
BULGULAR: Yaşları 20.24±20 olan öğrencilerin AN oranının %8.9, SBAF toplam puanının 21.51±21 olduğu saptandı. SBAF cronbach alfa değeri 0.83 idi. YTT toplam puanı ile cinsiyet, maddi durum ve doktorun özel bir diyet önerme durumu arasında istatistiksel açıdan anlamlı farklılık tespit edildi (p<0.05). YTT toplam puanı ile SBAF toplam puanları arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir ilişki saptandı (p<0.05).
TARTIŞMA ve SONUÇ: Anoreksiyo nevroza olan bireylerin sosyal bedensel algı düzeyinin düşük ve AN gelişiminde sosyal ve bedensel algının önemli bir faktör olduğu saptandı.

Investigation of symptoms of anorexia nervosa and related factors in university students

INTRODUCTION: This study aims to investigate the effects of social and body perception as well as other variables (gender, financial situation, appetite, doctor recommended special diet, BMI, exercise) on the development of Anorexia Nervosa (AN) in university students.
METHODS: The population of this descriptive study consists of students at the main campus of a university (n=14109). The sample consists of 1002 students chosen among this group by random sampling method. Data were obtained by face-to-face meetings using the "Personal Information Form", "Eating Attitudes Test (EAT)" and "Social and Body Perception Form (SBPF)".
RESULTS: It was detected that the AN rate was %8.9 and the total SBPF score was 21.51±21 of the students aged 20.24±20. SBPF cronbach alpha coefficient was found 0.83. A statistically significant difference was detected between the EAT total scores and gender, financial situation and doctor's recommendation of a special diet (p<0.05). A statistically significant relationship was detected between the EAT total scores and SBPF totral scores (p<0.05).
DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSION: The study found that the social and body perception of the students with AN was low. Social and body perception is an important factor in the development of AN.
